James Laurenson Biography
James Laurenson is a New Zealand stage and screen actor. Born on February 17, 1940, in Marton, North Island, Laurenson began his acting career at Canterbury University College in Christchurch. He made his film debut in 1969 with a small role in Women in Love, and also appeared in The Magic Christian. Known for his British Shakespearean productions, Laurenson has performed in Richard II, Hamlet, and Vivat Rex. He portrayed Piers Gaveston in Christopher Marlowe's Edward II, alongside Ian McKellen. Laurenson has also appeared in Elizabeth R and The Professionals. With a career spanning both stage and screen, James Laurenson is a versatile and talented actor.
