James McNew Biography
James McNew is an American musician known for his work as the bass player for the rock band Yo La Tengo. He joined the band in 1992 and has been a core member ever since. Prior to his time with Yo La Tengo, McNew was a member of the band Christmas, appearing on their third album Vortex. In addition to his work with Yo La Tengo, McNew also has a solo side project called Dump. Outside of music, he gained attention for his role as a parking lot attendant in Charlottesville, Virginia, which was highlighted in the documentary The Parking Lot Movie.
