James Monroe Iglehart is an American stage, film, television, and voice actor. Born on September 4, 1974, in Hayward, California, he gained recognition for his Tony Award-winning portrayal of the Genie in the original Broadway production of Aladdin. He later joined the Broadway company of Hamilton in April 2017, assuming the roles of Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson. Iglehart has also showcased his talents in various other productions, including playing Mitch Mahoney in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and originating the role of Bobby in Memphis on Broadway. Additionally, he can be heard as super producer Steve Jones in As The Curtain Rises, Broadway's first original podcast soap opera.
