James Naughton Biography
James Naughton (born December 6, 1945) is an American actor and director. He is best known for his role as Michael Bower on the television show Who's the Boss? (1984-1992) and for playing the astronaut Pete Burke in the 1974 television adaptation of Planet of the Apes. Naughton was born in Middletown, Connecticut, and is the son of Rosemary and Joseph Naughton, both teachers. He is the older brother of actor David Naughton. Naughton graduated from Brown University and Yale School of Drama, and started his acting career on Broadway. He has appeared in both film and television, and has received the Theatre World Award for his work in Long Day's Journey into Night.
