James Patterson

James Brendan Patterson (born March 22, 1947) is an American author known for his popular novels and series, including Alex Cross, Michael Bennett, Women's Murder Club, Maximum Ride, Daniel X, NYPD Red, Witch & Wizard, Private, and Middle School. He has also written numerous stand-alone thrillers, non-fiction, and romance novels. Patterson's books have sold over 425 million copies worldwide, and he holds the distinction of being the first author to sell 1 million e-books. In addition to his success as an author, Patterson has topped Forbes' list of highest-paid authors multiple times, earning an estimated $700 million over a decade. He has also been recognized for his contributions to literacy, receiving the Literarian Award from the National Book Foundation and donating millions of dollars in grants and scholarships to promote education and reading.
