James Saito Biography
James Tomio Saito (born March 6, 1955) is an American actor known for his roles in both movies and television shows. He gained recognition as the original Shredder in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and as Dr. Chen in the ABC series Eli Stone. Saito also appeared in the Netflix film Always Be My Maybe, portraying the character of Harry Kim, and played Kenji in the TV series Modern Love. In 2020, he became a member of the prestigious Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Saito was born in Los Angeles to Japanese parents and holds a degree in theater from the University of California, Los Angeles. He honed his acting skills under the tutelage of renowned actress Uta Hagen at HB Studio in New York City. Saito has an extensive filmography, including appearances in Life of Pi, Big Eyes, Wilson, while We're Young, and Pearl Harbor, among others.
