James Todd Spader (born February 7, 1960) is an American actor known for his portrayal of eccentric and morally ambiguous characters. He began his career in independent films but later found success on television, earning three Primetime Emmy Awards and multiple nominations for Golden Globe Awards and Screen Actors Guild Awards. Spader gained recognition for his role in the critically acclaimed film Sex, Lies, and Videotape (1989), winning the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actor.
