James Taylor

James Vernon Taylor (born March 12, 1948) is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist. He is a six-time Grammy Award winner and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000. Taylor is known for his breakthrough single 'Fire and Rain' in 1970 and his hit recording of 'You've Got a Friend' in 1971. His 1976 Greatest Hits album has sold over 12 million copies in the US alone. Throughout his career, Taylor has consistently sold over 1 million copies of each album he released from 1977 to 2007. He experienced a resurgence in the late 1990s and 2000s with critically acclaimed albums such as 'Hourglass', 'October Road', and 'Covers'. In 2015, Taylor achieved his first number-one album in the US with 'Before This World'.
