James Tupper Biography
James Tupper (born August 4, 1965) is a Canadian actor known for his roles in various television series. He portrayed Jack Slattery in the ABC series Men in Trees and Dr. Chris Sands in the NBC medical drama Mercy. Tupper also appeared as David Clarke in ABC's Revenge and starred in the post-apocalyptic thriller Aftermath on Space in Canada and Syfy in the U.S. He gained further recognition for his role in the HBO series Big Little Lies. Tupper was born in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and studied acting at Concordia University in Montreal and Rutgers University in New Jersey, where he earned a master's degree. He has also acted in several off-Broadway plays and co-wrote and appeared in the improvised independent film Loudmouth Soup.
