James Wilby Biography
James Jonathon Wilby (born 20 February 1958) is an English actor known for his roles in various films and television shows. Born in Rangoon, Burma, Wilby was educated at Terrington Hall School and Sedbergh School before pursuing a degree in Mathematics at Grey College, University of Durham. He then attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Wilby made his screen debut in the 1982 film Privileged alongside Hugh Grant. He is internationally recognized for his performances in Maurice (1987), A Handful of Dust (1988), A Tale of Two Cities (1989), Howards End (1992), Regeneration (1997), Cotton Mary (1999), Gosford Park (2001), and C'est Gradiva qui vous appelle (2006).
