James Worthy Biography
James Ager Worthy (born February 27, 1961) is an American sports commentator, television host, analyst, and former professional basketball player. Known as 'Big Game James,' Worthy played his entire professional career with the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA. He was a seven-time NBA All-Star, a two-time All-NBA Team member, and won three NBA championships. In 1988, he was named the NBA Finals MVP. Worthy was also selected for the NBA's 50th and 75th anniversary teams. Prior to his professional career, Worthy was a standout college basketball player for the North Carolina Tar Heels, helping lead the team to the 1982 NCAA championship. He was born in Gastonia, North Carolina.
