Jamie Raskin Biography
Jamie Raskin is an American attorney, law professor, and politician. Born on December 13, 1962, he currently serves as the U.S. Representative for Maryland's 8th congressional district since 2017. Prior to this role, Raskin served in the Maryland State Senate from 2007 to 2016. He is a member of the Democratic Party and co-chairs the Congressional Freethought Caucus. Raskin gained national attention when he served as the lead impeachment manager for the second impeachment of President Donald Trump following the attack on the U.S. Capitol. Before entering politics, Raskin was a constitutional law professor at American University Washington College of Law, where he co-founded and directed the LL.M. program on law and government and co-founded the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project.
