Jane Powell

Jane Powell (1929–2021) was an American actress, singer, and dancer known for her appearances in Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer musicals in the 1940s and 50s. She gained popularity for her soprano voice and girl-next-door image. Powell starred in films such as A Date with Judy (1948), Royal Wedding (1951), Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954), and Hit the Deck (1955). In the late-1950s, she transitioned into non-musical roles in films like The Female Animal and Enchanted Island. Powell also performed on stage in productions like My Fair Lady and The Sound of Music. She made occasional television appearances, including recurring roles on The Love Boat and Growing Pains. Powell's career spanned the Golden Age of Hollywood.
