Janet Varney Biography
Janet Varney is an American actress, comedian, writer, and producer. She is best known for her role as the voice of Korra in the Nickelodeon animated series The Legend of Korra, as well as for her portrayal of Sheriff Evie Barret in the TV show Stan Against Evil and Becca Barbara in You're the Worst. Varney has been hosting The JV Club podcast since 2012 and co-hosts the Avatar: Braving the Elements podcast. She is also the co-founder, creative director, and producer of the SF Sketchfest comedy festival in San Francisco. Born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, Varney graduated from Rincon High School and holds a Bachelor of Arts in theater from San Francisco State University. She has a background in interior design and left the Mormon church at the age of 17 to identify as agnostic.
