Janina Elkin

Janina Elkin is a German film and theater actress, born on December 20, 1982, in Kyiv, Ukrainian SSR. She began her training as a ballet dancer at the State Ballet Academy in Mannheim and later studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City. Since 2004, Elkin has worked extensively in both film and television, as well as on stage. She gained recognition for her role in the Netflix miniseries The Queen's Gambit. Some of her notable film credits include Küssen verboten, Baggern erlaubt (2003), Tumbling Leaf – Ein Tag im Herbst (2004), and Frauenhelden (2005).
