Jasmine Cephas Jones is an American-British actress, singer, and producer. Born on July 21, 1989, in London, England, she grew up in Midwood, Brooklyn. Jones attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, Berklee College of Music, and graduated from Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in 2011. She gained recognition for originating the dual roles of Peggy Schuyler and Maria Reynolds in the Broadway musical Hamilton. Her performance on the show's cast album earned her a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album. In 2020, she won a Primetime Emmy for her portrayal of Tyisha in #freerayshawn. Jones has also made appearances in independent films and TV shows such as Titus, Fairfield, Blue Bloods, Unforgettable, and Mrs. Fletcher.
