Jay Armstrong Johnson is an American actor, singer, and dancer, born on September 1, 1987, in Fort Worth, Texas. He gained recognition for his performances in various Broadway musicals including Parade, On the Town, and The Phantom of the Opera. Johnson's portrayal of Will Olsen in the ABC television series Quantico also garnered attention. Starting his professional career at the age of thirteen, he made his debut in the touring production of Cathy Rigby's Peter Pan. Johnson attended New York University's Steinhardt School of Music and appeared in a 2008 production of Adam Guettel and Tina Landau's musical Floyd Collins. He also toured nationally in the Broadway revival of A Chorus Line as the character Mark before making his Broadway debut in Hair in 2009.
