    Jay Rock, born Johnny Reed McKinzie Jr. on March 31, 1985, is an American rapper and songwriter. Raised in Los Angeles, California, he gained recognition after signing with indie label Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) in 2005. Despite initial record deals falling through, Rock later signed with Strange Music, in a joint-venture deal with TDE. He has released multiple mixtapes under TDE and gained major attention with his 2008 debut single 'All My Life (In the Ghetto)' featuring Lil Wayne and will.i.am. In 2011, Rock released his debut album 'Follow Me Home,' followed by his second album '90059.' Jay Rock continues to be an influential figure in the hip-hop industry.
