Jayne Houdyshell Biography
Jayne Houdyshell, born on September 25, 1953, is a highly acclaimed American actress known for her remarkable stage and screen performances. She made her Broadway debut in 2006, earning her first Tony Award nomination for her role as Ann in the play Well. Throughout her career, she has received a total of five Tony Award nominations, including for her performances in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's musical Follies in 2012, Lucas Hnath's A Doll's House, Part 2 in 2017, and Meredith Willson's The Music Man in 2022. Jayne Houdyshell won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her outstanding portrayal in the 2016 play The Humans. Additionally, she has delivered noteworthy supporting performances in films such as Downsizing (2017) and Little Women (2019), and she reprised her role in the film adaptation of The Humans in 2021. Houdyshell has also made appearances in several television series, including Third Watch, Law & Order, Blue Bloods, and The Good Fight.
