Jeanne Tripplehorn is an American actress known for her versatile performances on both stage and screen. Born on June 10, 1963, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, she began her acting career in the early 1990s, making a notable Broadway debut in Anton Chekhov's Three Sisters. Tripplehorn gained wider recognition with her role as a police psychologist in the acclaimed erotic thriller Basic Instinct (1992). She has since appeared in various films including The Firm (1993), Waterworld (1995), and Sliding Doors (1998). On television, Tripplehorn is best known for her portrayal of Barbara Henrickson in the HBO drama series Big Love (2006–2011) and Dr. Alex Blake in CBS's Criminal Minds (2012–2014).
