Jed Brophy Biography
Jed Brophy (born 29 October 1963) is a New Zealand actor known for his appearances in several of Peter Jackson's films. He has acted in movies such as Braindead, Heavenly Creatures, The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, and King Kong. Brophy also portrayed the character Nori, a dwarf, in The Hobbit films. Born in Taihape in 1963, Brophy grew up in Mataroa and attended Mataroa Primary School and Palmerston North Boys' High School. He graduated from Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School in 1987 and began his acting career in stage productions in Wellington. Brophy gained recognition for his role in Gary Henderson's play Skin Tight, and his first screen role was in the 1988 film Small War on the Edge of Town.
