Jeff Corey (born Arthur Zwerling on August 10, 1914 - August 16, 2002) was an American stage and screen actor. He gained recognition for his work with directors such as Jules Dassin, Elia Kazan, and John Randolph. In the 1950s, Corey was blacklisted and subsequently became a respected acting teacher. He attended New Utrecht High School in Brooklyn and performed with the Clare Tree Major Children's Theater of New York. Corey served in the United States Navy during World War II. His memoir, 'Improvising Out Loud: My Life Teaching Hollywood How To Act,' was co-written with his daughter, Emily Corey, and features a foreword by Leonard Nimoy.
