Jeffrey Seth Rosenthal, born on October 13, 1967, is a Canadian statistician and nonfiction author. He is currently a professor in the department of statistics at the University of Toronto, where he is also cross-appointed with the department of mathematics. Rosenthal obtained his B.Sc. in mathematics, physics, and computer science from the University of Toronto in 1988, and later received his Ph.D. in mathematics from Harvard University in 1992. He has held various academic positions, including assistant professor at the University of Minnesota, before joining the University of Toronto as an assistant professor in 1993. Rosenthal's research focuses on the theory of Markov chain Monte Carlo and other statistical techniques.
