Jeffrey Ross Lifschultz, born on September 13, 1965, is an American stand-up comedian and actor. He gained recognition as the 'Roastmaster General' for his insult comedy and frequent appearances at celebrity roasts organized by the New York Friars Club, the Comedy Central Roast television series, and the Netflix historical comedy series Historical Roasts. Ross's directorial debut was the 2006 documentary Patriot Act: A Jeffrey Ross Home Movie, which won the Best Film award at the Comedia film festival held at the Just for Laughs comedy festival in Montreal. Raised in Newark, New Jersey, before moving to Union and later Springfield, he attended Jonathan Dayton High School. Ross, who is of Jewish heritage, sadly lost his mother to leukemia at age 14 and his father to drug-related causes at age 19.
