    Jeffrey Scot Tweedy (born August 25, 1967) is an American musician, songwriter, author, and record producer. He is best known as the singer and guitarist of the band Wilco. Tweedy started his music career in high school with the band The Plebes, which later became Uncle Tupelo. After Uncle Tupelo disbanded, Tweedy formed Wilco, which gained critical and commercial success. Tweedy has released 20 studio albums, including four with Uncle Tupelo, twelve with Wilco, and three solo studio albums. He has also collaborated with other musicians, most notably on the album Mermaid Avenue with Billy Bragg.
