Jefferson Mays is an American actor known for his impressive stage career. Born on June 8, 1965, he has received several prestigious awards throughout his acting journey, including a Tony Award, a Helen Hayes Award, a Lucille Lortel Award, two Drama Desk Awards, two Outer Critics Circle Awards, and three Obie Awards. Mays grew up in Clinton, Connecticut, with his parents, a naval intelligence officer and a children's librarian, and his siblings. He studied at Yale College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, and the University of California, San Diego, where he obtained a Master of Fine Arts. Mays has performed at renowned theaters such as La Jolla Playhouse, Long Wharf Theatre, Williamstown Theatre Festival, and Playwrights Horizons.
