Jenifer Lewis

Jenifer Lewis is an American actress known for her roles as mothers in various films and television shows. She was born on January 25, 1957. Lewis started her career in Broadway musicals and worked as a backup singer for Bette Midler. Her breakthrough film roles came in Beaches (1988) and Sister Act (1992). She gained recognition for her portrayal of mothers in films like What's Love Got to Do With It (1993), Poetic Justice (1993), The Preacher's Wife (1996), and The Brothers (2001). Lewis has also lent her voice to animated characters in movies such as The Princess and the Frog (2009) and the Cars series. She is often referred to as 'The Mother of Black Hollywood.'
