Jenny O'Hara (born February 24, 1942) is an American film, television, and stage actress. She is best known for her roles as Dixie in My Sister Sam (1986–1988), Janet Heffernan in The King of Queens (2001–2007), and Nita in Big Love (2006–2009). O'Hara was born in Sonora, California and grew up in a family involved in the theater. Her mother, Edith O'Hara, was a journalist and drama teacher, and her father, John B. O'Hara, was a salesman. She began her acting career at a young age, making her stage debut at age 5. O'Hara attended Carnegie Tech and has since appeared in numerous films, television shows, and stage productions.
