Jeremy Pope is an American actor and singer, born on July 9, 1992. He gained recognition in 2019 when he became the sixth person in Tony Award history to be nominated in two separate categories for his performances in Choir Boy and Ain't Too Proud. His portrayal of Pharus Jonathan Young in Choir Boy earned him a nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Play, while his role as Eddie Kendricks in Ain't Too Proud earned him a nomination for Best Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical. Pope also received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Musical Theater Album for Ain't Too Proud. In 2020, he starred in the Netflix miniseries Hollywood, which garnered him a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Leading Role in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. Pope hails from Orlando, Florida and attended Timber Creek High School as well as the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. He made his Broadway debut in 2018 as Pharus Jonathan Young.
