Jermaine Dupri Mauldin, born on September 23, 1972, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, record executive, entrepreneur, and DJ. Raised in Atlanta, Dupri began his career in the music industry at the age of 9, thanks to his father's position as a Columbia Records executive. In 1991, he formed and produced the hip hop duo Kris Kross and wrote and produced their hit single 'Jump.' A year later, Dupri established his own record label, So So Def Recordings. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with renowned artists such as Mariah Carey, Usher, Destiny's Child, Monica, and Bow Wow, producing 11 chart-topping singles. Additionally, Dupri released his own albums, 'Life in 1472' in 1998 and 'Instructions' in 2002. In 2013, he became Mariah Carey's talent manager, and in 2015, he co-created the reality TV series 'The Rap Game.'
