Jerry Maren Biography
Jerry Maren (born Gerard Marenghi; January 24, 1920 – May 24, 2018) was an American actor best known for his role as a Munchkin member of the Lollipop Guild in the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz. He was the last surviving adult Munchkin from the film and the last surviving cast member with a specifically identifiable speaking or singing role. Born in Lynn, Massachusetts, Maren began his career in show business at a young age, touring with his dance instructor in a singing and dancing act. He gained recognition when he was discovered by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer scouts and was invited to join the cast of The Wizard of Oz.
