Jerry Orbach Biography
Jerry Orbach (October 20, 1935 – December 28, 2004) was an American actor and singer. He was known as one of the last leading men of Broadway musicals and a versatile stage and film actor. Orbach began his career on the New York stage, creating roles in productions like The Fantasticks and Chicago. He won a Tony Award for his performance in Promises, Promises. In film, he played supporting roles in movies such as Prince of the City, Dirty Dancing, and Crimes and Misdemeanors. Orbach also provided the voice of Lumiere in Disney's Beauty and the Beast. He made numerous guest appearances on television shows throughout his career.
