Jerry Schaefer (born 1979) is a Canadian actor, best known for his role as Possum Lake animal control officer Ed Frid on The Red Green Show. He is a veteran of The Second City and continues to work as an instructor there. Schaefer was also a member of the comedy troupe The Chumps, where he helped create and perform several long-running pop culture parodies and improvised one-act plays. In film, he has worked with notable actors such as Carl Reiner, Bette Midler, Bruce McCulloch, Natasha Henstridge, and Angelina Jolie. Schaefer has appeared in various television shows including The Kids in the Hall, Degrassi: The Next Generation, and Howie Do It with Howie Mandel. He served as head writer for a project as well.
