Jesse Metcalfe (born December 9, 1978) is an American actor known for his work in television and film. He gained recognition for his portrayal of John Rowland on the hit TV series Desperate Housewives. Metcalfe also had notable roles on Passions and played the title role in John Tucker Must Die. He starred as Christopher Ewing in the TNT continuation of Dallas, based on the 1978 series. From 2016 to 2021, he portrayed Trace Riley in the popular Hallmark Channel series Chesapeake Shores. Metcalfe was born in Carmel Valley Village, California and attended The Williams School in New London, Connecticut. He dropped out of New York University after landing a role on Passions.
