Jessica Sanchez

Jessica Elizabeth Sanchez (born August 4, 1995) is an American singer-songwriter. She gained recognition as the runner-up on the eleventh season of American Idol. Born in Chula Vista, California, Sanchez is the eldest of three children and was raised in Eastlake. Her mother is of Filipino descent, while her father is Mexican American. In 2005, Sanchez showcased her talent by performing Aretha Franklin's 'Respect' on Showtime at the Apollo. She also appeared on the first season of America's Got Talent in 2006. Sanchez has since pursued a successful career as a singer-songwriter, showcasing her powerhouse vocals and diverse musical style.
