Jewel Belair Staite is a Canadian actress known for her roles in various television series. She gained popularity for portraying Kaylee Frye in the TV series Firefly (2002–2003) and its film Serenity (2005). Staite also played Jennifer Keller in Stargate Atlantis (2007–2009), Catalina in Space Cases (1996), and Becca Fisher in Flash Forward (1996–1997). She has appeared in the Canadian drama The L.A. Complex (2012) and AMC's crime drama The Killing (2013–2014). Since 2021, she stars as Abigail Bianchi in the legal drama series Family Law. Staite, born on June 2, 1982, in White Rock, British Columbia, has a diverse ancestral background including British, Irish, French Canadian, and Iroquois heritage.
