Jho Low

Jho Low, born Low Taek Jho on November 4, 1981, is a Malaysian fugitive businessman. He gained international notoriety for his alleged involvement in the 1Malaysia Development Berhad scandal (1MDB scandal), being wanted by authorities worldwide. Low has been accused of masterminding a massive fraud scheme, which prosecutors claim aimed to divert $4.5 billion from 1MDB into his personal accounts. He is believed to have received substantial assets through discretionary trusts funded by the Malaysian 1MDB fund. Low denies all allegations and argues that he is being targeted due to his prior support for former Prime Minister Najib Razak. Low was raised in George Town, Penang, in a wealthy Malaysian Chinese family of Teochew descent.
