Jim Al-Khalili
Jim Al-Khalili is an Iraqi-British theoretical physicist, author, and broadcaster. Born in Baghdad in 1962, he settled permanently in the United Kingdom in 1979. He is currently a professor of theoretical physics and chair in the public engagement in science at the University of Surrey. Al-Khalili is well-known for his role as a regular broadcaster and presenter of science programs on BBC radio and television. Additionally, he is a frequent commentator on science in other British media. In recognition of his contributions, he was named a RISE leader by the UK's Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council in 2014. Jim Al-Khalili also served as the President of Humanists UK from January 2013 to January 2016.
