Jim Rash
Jim Rash, born on July 15, 1971, is an American actor, comedian, and filmmaker. He rose to fame for his portrayal of Dean Craig Pelton on the NBC sitcom Community from 2009 to 2015. In 2012, Rash received a nomination for the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his role. Alongside Alexander Payne and Nat Faxon, he co-wrote the critically acclaimed film The Descendants (2011), which won several awards including the Academy Award, Independent Spirit Award, and Writers Guild of America Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. Rash and Faxon have also collaborated on writing and directing the comedy films The Way, Way Back (2013) and Downhill (2020). Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, Rash attended the Charlotte Latin School and later the Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. He is a member of The Groundlings, an improv comedy group.
