Jim Sturgess Biography
James Anthony Sturgess (born 16 May 1978) is an English actor and singer-songwriter. He gained recognition for his role as Jude in the musical romance drama film Across the Universe (2007). Sturgess also played Ben Campbell in the film 21 (2008) and Gavin Kossef in Crossing Over (2009), alongside Harrison Ford, Ray Liotta, and Ashley Judd. He starred in the 2010 film The Way Back, directed by Peter Weir, and co-starred in the epic science fiction film Cloud Atlas (2012). Born in Wandsworth, London, Sturgess grew up in Farnham, Surrey, attending Frensham Heights School. He began his acting career in a local theatre group during his school years.
