Jim Verraros
Jim Verraros, born James Conrad Verraros on February 8, 1983, is an American singer, songwriter, and actor. He gained recognition as a contestant on the first season of American Idol, where he placed ninth. Verraros, raised by deaf parents, is fluent in American Sign Language and captivated audiences on American Idol by signing the lyrics to his audition song. Following the show, he released three pop rock and dance albums in collaboration with music producer and songwriter Gabe Lopez. Verraros also appeared on the compilation album American Idol: Greatest Moments, reaching number four on the Billboard 200 chart. He came out as gay while participating in the 2002 American Idols LIVE! tour, becoming the first openly gay finalist in American Idol history.
