James Carter Walker Jr., born on June 25, 1947, is an American actor and comedian. He is best known for his portrayal of James Evans Jr. ('J.J.') on the CBS television series Good Times, which aired from 1974 to 1979. Walker received Golden Globe Award nominations in 1975 and 1976 for his role. He gained popularity through his catchphrase 'Dyn-O-Mite!', which he also used in his TV commercials during the mid-1970s. Walker has appeared in films such as Let's Do It Again and The Greatest Thing That Almost Happened. He continues to tour the country with his stand-up comedy routine. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Walker was raised in The Bronx and attended Theodore Roosevelt High School before pursuing further education through the SEEK program.
