James Victor Scott, better known as Little Jimmy Scott or Jimmy Scott, was an American jazz vocalist with a high natural contralto voice. Born on July 17, 1925, in Cleveland, Ohio, Scott's singing career took off in the 1940s and 1950s. However, he faced a decline in the early 1960s and slipped into obscurity. Scott made a remarkable comeback in the 1990s, reclaiming his place in the music industry. He had a unique voice and timbre, attributed to Kallmann syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that affected his growth and voice. Standing at 4 ft until the age of 37, Scott experienced a growth spurt of 8 inches due to the syndrome. Throughout his life, Scott showcased his talent and sensitivity through his performances on ballads and love songs.
