Jo Ellen Pellman

Jo Ellen Pellman is an American actress known for her role as Emma Nolan in the 2020 Netflix musical film The Prom. Born on October 29, 1995, in Ohio and raised in Cincinnati, Pellman grew up with a passion for the arts. She participated in her school's choir, studied tap and ballet, and attended theater camp. Pellman graduated from the University of Michigan in 2018 with a BFA in musical theatre and a minor in creative writing. During her training, she appeared in productions such as Me and My Girl, The Drowsy Chaperone, and Grand Concourse. Pellman has also studied Shakespeare at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Prior to her breakout role in The Prom, she had minor appearances on shows like Alternatino, The Deuce, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
