Joan Mary Cusack (born October 11, 1962) is an American actress and comedian. She is best known for her roles in various comedy and romantic comedy films. Cusack received Academy Award nominations for her performances in the comedy-drama Working Girl (1988) and the romantic comedy In & Out (1997). She has appeared in films such as Toys (1992), Nine Months (1995), Cradle Will Rock (1999), Where the Heart Is (2000), and Kit Kittredge: An American Girl (2008). Cusack has also lent her voice to the character Jessie in the Toy Story franchise (1999–present). She was a cast member on Saturday Night Live from 1985 to 1986 and starred in the Showtime series Shameless (2011–2021). Cusack is the sister of actress Ann Cusack and actor John Cusack.
