Joan Pringle

Joan Pringle (born June 2, 1945) is an American actress known for her roles on General Hospital (1963), The White Shadow (1978), and Original Sin (2001). She is best known for her portrayal of vice principal (and subsequently principal) Sybil Buchanan in the TV series The White Shadow. Pringle was born and raised in Harlem, New York City, and later moved to Brooklyn. She attended an Episcopalian private school and excelled as a track athlete. Pringle studied English literature and drama at the City College of New York and began her acting career onstage. She made her Broadway debut in 1970 and later moved to California to pursue her acting career.
