Joanna Gleason (née Hall; born June 2, 1950) is a Canadian actress and singer. She gained fame as a Tony Award-winning musical theatre actress and has also made notable appearances in film and television. Gleason is best known for originating the role of the Baker's Wife in Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods, for which she won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical. Her film credits include Mike Nichols' Heartburn (1986), Woody Allen's Hannah and Her Sisters (1986) and Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989), as well as Paul Thomas Anderson's Boogie Nights (1997). On television, Gleason has appeared in popular shows like Friends, The West Wing, The Good Wife, and The Affair.
