Joe Alwyn is an English actor known for his roles in various films. Born on February 21, 1991, he studied English literature and drama at the University of Bristol, where he also performed in student productions at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. In 2016, Alwyn made his feature film debut as the titular character in Ang Lee's war drama 'Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk'. He has since appeared in supporting roles in films such as 'The Favourite', 'Mary Queen of Scots', 'Boy Erased', and 'Harriet'. In addition to his acting career, Alwyn co-wrote and co-produced songs for American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift under the pseudonym William Bowery. His contributions to Swift's album 'Folklore' earned him a Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 2021.
