Joe Bastianich, born on September 17, 1968, is an American restaurateur, winemaker, author, television personality, and musician. Alongside his mother and business partner Lidia Bastianich, Joe co-owns thirty restaurants across four countries, including the popular Osteria Mozza in Los Angeles. In 2010, they expanded their ventures by collaborating with businessman Oscar Farinetti to introduce Eataly, a high-end food and wine market, to various cities including Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York City, and London. Joe Bastianich, born in Astoria, Queens, is the child of Istrian Italian immigrants Felice and Lidia Bastianich. His family has a mix of Italian and Eastern European heritage due to the multiethnicity of Istria, now part of Croatia.
