Joe Cocker Biography
Joe Cocker (20 May 1944 – 22 December 2014) was an English singer known for his gritty, bluesy voice and dynamic stage performances. He gained near-instant stardom with his recording of the Beatles' 'With a Little Help from My Friends', which reached number one in the UK in 1968. Cocker continued his success with his second album, featuring another Beatles song, 'She Came In Through the Bathroom Window'. Throughout his career, he recorded many hit singles, including 'Feelin' Alright?' and 'Unchain My Heart', mostly written by other songwriters but also composed songs for his albums. Cocker's expressive body movements on stage became a trademark of his dynamic performances.
